Emmet Oliver

Emmet Oliver is a teaching fellow at Trinity College Business School and a lecturer at UCD Quinn Business School. Emmet writes and researches on the macro economy, business strategy, financial history and financial communications.
Previous to this Emmet was director of global communications at IDA Ireland, where he had lead responsibility for Ireland’s investment and economic messaging and global marketing strategy during the financial crisis and later Brexit.
Before this Emmet worked as a financial and economic writer, starting his career at the Irish Times and later working in the City of London with Bloomberg News before becoming Editor of the Sunday Business Post. Emmet is a graduate of UCD and DCU and is qualified in Corporate Governance following study at UCD Smurfit Business School.
He is a doctoral researcher at Trinity College Business School. Emmet regularly broadcasts and presents programming on economic and financial subjects at NewsTalk 106. He also hosts UCD Business School’s Podcast, which focuses on global business, sustainability and economic change.
